Arbutus Burl Bowls
This set of Arbutus Burl "Beach" Bowls were turned from the root burl of an Arbutus tree that fell down onto the beach as the bank eroded away. The tree lay there for a few years and was starting to decay when a good friend came across it and sent a photo. We made two trips by boat to access and salvage the tree, these were all turned thin and allowed to morph as they dried taking on a very organic look and feel.
