These Arbutus Burl pen blanks measure 7/8" x 7/8" x 7 1/2" Highly figured burl harvested from storm damaged trees on Pender Island. Once the arbutus wood has been processed it is then boiled in a 60 gallon vat for 6 to 8 hours. After the boiling process the wood is dried in a controlled room for a year or more, these blanks are dry and ready for turning.
